Standard auto transport is scheduled with a pickup window, usually a span of a few days. Carriers fill their trailers as they travel, and a window lets them fit your vehicle in at the lowest cost. For many customers that is ideal. For others, it is a problem.
If you are closing on a house on Friday and flying out on Saturday, "sometime between Wednesday and Sunday" is no help. The same is true when you are due to report to a new duty station, when a lease or a storage contract ends on a certain day, or when the person releasing the vehicle is available on one date only.

How to Make a Guaranteed Pickup Go Smoothly
A firm date depends on good preparation from everyone involved. These steps will help yours go exactly as planned.
Book early. Two weeks of notice gives us the widest choice of carriers and the lowest premium. A guaranteed date can sometimes be arranged in a few days, at a higher cost, and at that point it overlaps with expedited service.
Give a precise address and describe the access. Tell us about gates, narrow streets, low trees, steep driveways, and parking restrictions. If a meeting point will be needed, we would rather settle it a week ahead than on the morning of pickup.
Name a backup contact. If you are tied up at a closing or already on your way to the airport, someone else should be able to release the vehicle. Give us their name and number in advance.
Have the vehicle ready the night before. Remove your belongings, check that it starts, leave about a quarter tank of fuel, and set out the keys. On the day, there should be nothing left to do but the inspection.
Keep your phone close. The driver will call with an arrival time, and a quick answer keeps the schedule intact.
Understand what can still go wrong. No company controls the weather, a highway closure, or a mechanical failure. If something beyond anyone's control threatens your date, we will tell you immediately and work to put another carrier in place. Ask your dispatcher how such situations are handled on your route when you book.
Finally, think about delivery. A guaranteed pickup fixes the first day of the shipment. If the arrival date matters just as much, say so, and we will plan the whole trip around both.
Guaranteed Pickup Questions
What does guaranteed pickup mean?
It means your vehicle is scheduled for pickup on a specific date that we agree on when you book, with a carrier secured for that date in advance. Ask your dispatcher for the exact terms that apply to your route.
How is it different from expedited transport?
Expedited service is about speed: getting a truck to you as soon as possible. Guaranteed pickup is about certainty: a particular date, which may be days or weeks away.
How much extra does it cost?
The premium depends on the route, the season, and how far ahead you book. You will receive one all-in price before you decide, with no deposit.
How far in advance should I book?
As early as you can. Two weeks is ideal. Shorter notice is often possible at a higher price.
Will I also get a guaranteed delivery date?
Guaranteed pickup covers the pickup date. Delivery is still given as a window based on distance. If your arrival date is critical, tell us and we will plan the shipment with that in mind.
What time will the driver come?
The driver calls ahead with an arrival time, usually the day before and again when a few hours away. If you need a particular part of the day, tell us when you book.
What happens if something prevents the pickup?
If weather, a road closure, or a breakdown interferes, we contact you right away and work to arrange another carrier as quickly as possible. Your dispatcher can explain how this is handled when you book.
Can I change the date after I book?
Call your dispatcher as soon as you know. With enough notice we can usually move the commitment to a new date. A change made at the last minute may affect the price, and we will tell you before you agree to it.
Is guaranteed pickup available on weekends?
On many routes, yes. Carriers work seven days a week. Tell us the day you need, and we will confirm whether a carrier can commit to it.
Is it available for enclosed transport?
Yes. Because enclosed carriers are fewer, we recommend booking guaranteed enclosed pickups especially early.
